• This year the South African Masters Basketball Association (SAMBA) tournament will start on Thursday 24th September and will finish on Saturday 26th 2009.

• Venue for this year's tournament is Sports Centre at University of Cape Town. Games will be played on 3 courts simultaneously over a period of three days from 08h00 until 20h00.

• Cape Town tournament was always well attended in the past and we hope that this year tournament will be record breaking. We anticipate over 300 participants to come to this tournament including teams from Mozambique, Angola and Europe.
• If you are over 30 and interested in participating but can't make a team please contact us and we will find a team for you.
• Age groups are: Men: 30+, 40+, 50+. Women: 30+, 40+.
• The final date for TEAM registrations, i.e. the payment of fees AND receipt of team and individual registration forms, will be 11th September. No late team registrations will be entertained.
  If you want to add players to your team after this date, the final date for player / official / companion registrations will be 18th September. Any registrations after this date can not be guaranteed proper registration. Please try and finalise your teams by the 18th September as the local organising committee have to advise caterers of final figures.
• Fixtures will be drawn one week before the tournament starts.
• Tournament fee is R550.00 per player including the functions.
• Minimum payment for the team is R3850.00. This covers up maximum of 7 seven participants. If you have more than 7 participants in your team, then you will have to pay R550 more for each additional participant unless they are participants who are already registered with a team in another league, i.e. a player who is playing for you as a second team. In this case the registration for this additional player can pay R250.
• Travelling companions will need to pay a registration fee of R300 each. This includes the meals and entertainment on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
• Payment will need to be made to the tournament account and must reach this account before the official closing date.
• Please attach copies of identity documents or passports to the application form and fax them to the tournament organisers.
• Team organisers, please collect your players’ entry fees and send them in a lump sum.
